Snelling View Kangaroo Island

located off the coast of South Australia, Kangaroo Island is perfectly surrounded by rugged and unspoiled wilderness and a sprawling coastline with beautiful private beaches.

The coastal retreat - Snellings View compromises of two identical homes that are connected by a central reception-style entrance. The two luxurious homes are architecturally designed to capture natural light while maximising privacy from the hilltop vantage point. The wide verandas overlook the pristine coastline.

The retreat sits directly above the beach, and is regularly subjected to breezes, high winds, and the sun’s harsh UV rays.

AQUAOIL OMGEA in Weathered Cedar and Portsea Sand was used on the external façade of the retreat. The exterior, penetrating, high density solid opaque stain changes the colour of the surface without concealing the texture of the wood. AQUAOIL OMEGA is UV and mildew resistant. It is water repellent, which helps prevent swelling and shrinking of the timber that causes cracking and splintering from moisture in alpine and extreme weather conditions.

What started as two childhood friends vacationing together with family has now led to Snellings View kangaroo Island. A place that is ideal for families who want to holiday together.
